Social Responsibility

Social responsibility is a crucial part of Moss Copenhagen's entire value chain. From farming and sourcing to suppliers and their sub-contractors, production, human resources and retail, social responsibility forms the foundation of our company.

Our dedication to social responsibility begins right at the fibre of our clothes and has earned us the key global responsible standards RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard) and RDS (Responsible Down Standard), which vouch for important ethical components in the treatment and welfare of the animals that grow the textiles and yarns we use, as well as land management, chain of custody and social welfare.

Using wool as an example, this means that our entire chain of production undergoes annual certification to ensure it meets all the responsible criteria, beginning with the farmer's land and the welfare of the sheep that graze here, all the way through clipping, trading, sourcing, spinning the yarn and making and selling the garments.

In addition, our global responsible tracking and verifying standard GRS (Global Recycled Standard) authenticates that we uphold proper social, environmental and chemical requirements involved in recycled textiles.

Furthermore, we do not use real fur or angora. Our down and feathers fully adhere to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), which means that they are not obtained by live-plucking or force-feeding and come from animals reared humanely with holistic respect for the welfare of the birds. The RDS has been developed with the input of farmers, animal welfare experts and land conservation experts, as well as international brands and retailers.
